A New Way to Make Sprig Molds: Clay Workshop
Tuition: $45
Ages: 16 - Adult
Discover a fresh and accessible approach to making detailed sprig molds in this hands-on workshop led by ceramic artist Nell Frederickson. Using fast-curing silicone putty, you’ll learn how to capture textures and forms from everyday objects and transform them into custom clay appliqués. This modern technique opens up new possibilities for surface decoration, whether you're making functional pottery, sculpture, or decorative tiles.
Students are encouraged to bring their own small, interesting found objects, up to 3" diameter—anything from buttons, jewelry, carved wood, natural forms, or trinkets—to create personalized molds. You’ll leave with your own set of silicone sprig molds and the know-how to continue the process at home. Great for all skill levels—no prior mold-making experience needed!
