Woodworking: Intro to CNC-Oven Squirrels!
Tuition: $55, can be made by an individual or a couple/family working together, plus a $25 materials fee, paid to instructor at class
Ages: Adults (children age 8+ may attend when accompanied by an adult)
This class is an introduction to computer numerical control tools, commonly referred to as CNC. In this class we will make 3 Oven Squirrels from natural hardwoods, White Oak or Cedar, sand to perfection and finish with mineral oil.
Folklore has it that the residents of Appalachia gave this squirrel to any newcomer to the neighborhood as a sign of friendship. It was to be displayed in their kitchen to signify that they had been welcomed into the community. Its design also works great when you need to pull the oven rack out with his ears to check the pie and push the rack back in with his front paws. Perfect gift for any occasion!
